| The GO Users Meeting is an open forum for anyone interested in the Gene Ontology (GO) project. This meeting provides the opportunity to users of the GO and to developers of GO-related analysis and visualization tools to share their research with each other and with members of the GO Consortium. This meeting is sponsored by the GO Consortium. |
| The Users Meeting will take place on Northwestern University's downtown campus on Thursday October 14th in room 4-075, Montgomery Ward Building, 303 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. This meeting is scheduled to start at 8:30AM and end around 4:15PM. A registration fee of $60 will be collected from all participants, which includes breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. |
| Special reservation rates have been arranged with two hotels that are located within a few blocks of the campus. The Allerton Crown Plaza - Chicago at 701 North Michigan Avenue (312/440-1500) is offering a group rate of $149 per person per day. The Wyndham Chicago Hotel, 633 North St. Clair (312/573-0300), is extending a group rate of $199 per person per day. When making your reservations, you will need to identify yourself as a member of the Gene Ontology group that is meeting at Northwestern University. The number of rooms reserved for this conference is limited, therefore we encourage you to make your room reservations before July 31, 2004. |

Travel: There are two Chicago airports: O'Hare International Airport, 20 miles northwest of downtown, and Midway International Airport, 10 miles southwest from downtown Chicago. Taxi rides to downtown are $30 to $35 from O'Hare, and $20 to $25 from Midway, depending on traffic conditions. Continental Airport Express runs shuttles from both airports for under $20. Car rental is of course an option, and public transport is available from both airports for $1.75. Campus directions and maps can be found here. |
