Description

This navigation bar is present on pages containing lists of information or data that extend beyond a single page to help you move within, sort, or search the list to find the information you are looking for. You can also download the entire list as an Excel file on your own computer (see List Navigation below).

Features of the Navigation Bar

• Page Navigation

  Page navigation lets you move to the top or bottom of the given page using the 'Top' or 'Bot' icons. The 'Next' or 'Prev' icons will move you to the next or previous page within a list.
  
  

• List Navigation

  • Moving within the list: List navigation lets you move around the main list in large jumps to the chosen target. It does not alter the order of the list or the number of items in the list. After selecting an option, you must press 'Go' to move to your selection.
    
    If you use List Navigation after a Search or Sort, you will return to the original list, in the location you have selected from the pulldown menu.
    
    
  • Downloading the entire list: Clicking on 'Download All Data' will download the entire list into a file on your disk as an Excel file.
    
  
  

• List Sorting and Searching

  List Sorting and Searching lets you narrow the list and/or reorder it by criteria that you choose. The sort and search features may be used independently of one another or in conjuction with each other in either order. For instance, it is possible to sort a list and then narrow it based on a search. It is also possible to use a search to narrow a list and then sort the resulting list according to a selected column. Sort and search functions are carried out on the currently displayed list.
  
  
  • Sorting: The 'Sort by' feature lets you change the order of the list. By selecting an option from the box, you choose which column is used to determine the order of the list. After selecting an option, you must press 'Go' to move to your selection.
    
    
  • Searching: The 'Search for' feature lets you generate a smaller list that contains only those items from the current list that meet your search criteria. To search, first select one of the choices from the 'Search for' box, then type your search term into the 'items containing:' box. After selecting an option and typing your search criterion into the box, you must press 'Go' to move to your selection.
    
    If a search is unproductive, it is possible that the correct name of the desired item was not used. Try putting a "*" in front of your item name as well as at the end, or try using only the first one or two characters followed by the "*" wildcard character to get a list of possible names. (Note that searches resulting in too many "hits" will display an error message.)

  If your search has narrowed the list too far, you may return to the original list by deleting your search criteria from the 'items containing:' box or by making a selection in the List Navigation menu.
